The Role
We are looking for an Application Engineer to be the technical partner who makes customers successful with Agentrys — deploying our agentic design systems into their environments, running them on their real workflows, and turning their feedback into product improvements.
You will own the customer's technical experience once they choose Agentrys: installation and integration in each customer's environment; configuring and tuning agents against real EDA flows; running evaluations and benchmarks on customer designs; training their engineers; and triaging and resolving issues end to end.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who combines chip-design or EDA familiarity with strong software and debugging skills, and who is energized by helping engineering teams adopt new technology and get real value from it.
What You'll Do
- Deploy and integrate Agentrys Studio and our agents into customer environments, alongside existing EDA tools, license servers, and compute.
- Configure and tune agents against customers' real verification, RTL, physical-design, and custom-design workflows.
- Run evaluations, benchmarks, and proofs of value on customer designs, and translate results into clear technical narratives.
- Onboard and train customer engineers; write runbooks, guides, and best practices that help teams get value quickly.
- Triage, reproduce, and resolve customer issues end to end, driving root cause with research, product, and infrastructure teams.
- Be the voice of the customer — capture requirements, prioritize pain points, and feed structured feedback into the product roadmap.
- Build the scripts, connectors, and automation needed to fit Agentrys cleanly into each customer's flow.
- Collaborate with solutions, research, product, and infrastructure teams across San Jose, Austin, and Taiwan.
What We're Looking For
- BS/MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with semiconductor design or EDA workflows — verification, RTL, physical design, or custom design — or supporting the engineers who run them.
- Strong software, scripting, and debugging skills (for example Python plus shell or TCL), with the ability to integrate and automate tools in messy, real-world environments.
- Comfort working directly with customers: understanding requirements, presenting technical ideas, and managing issues through to resolution.
- Familiarity with Linux, compute/HPC environments, and enterprise deployments.
- High ownership, excellent communication, and a genuine drive to make customers successful.
Particularly Valuable Experience
- Field / application engineering, customer engineering, or technical support at an EDA, semiconductor, or enterprise-software company.
- Hands-on experience with commercial EDA tools, license servers, and job schedulers (LSF, SGE, Slurm).
- Generative AI, agentic workflows, or LLM-based tools used in real engineering settings.
- Deploying software into enterprise or customer-managed environments.
- Building demos, evaluations, or internal productivity tools for engineering teams.
- Working across cultures and time zones with customers in the US and Taiwan; Mandarin is a plus.
